Northern Wine Route

The northern Wine Route remains the best-kept secret of the Alsatian vineyard. Twenty-five minutes from Strasbourg, this tour follows the route from its official starting point in Marlenheim, gateway to the Couronne d'Or, down to Barr, wine capital of the Bas-Rhin. In between, Molsheim blends wine heritage with Bugatti industrial memory, while Obernai lines up ramparts, belfry and market squares below the Mont National. The cellars here receive fewer visitors than in the south: the winemakers take time to explain their work, notably on the Rieslings of the Bruderthal and the grand crus of the sector. It is the ideal tour for a first approach to the vineyard from Strasbourg, an extended half day that sacrifices neither the tastings nor the strolls through the villages. Your driver picks you up at your Strasbourg hotel, at the station or at Entzheim airport, which sits right beside this route.
